Retro Rose Retreat is not your typical cabin in the woods... It sits among towering pine and oak trees within the Ouachita National Forest. And while it's a retreat in the woods...it's also a perfect base camp right in the heart of all the great things to do in the Beaver's Bend area (within a couple of miles of Broken Bow Lake, The Grateful Head, Mountain Fork Brewery, Hochatown Distilling, escape room adventures, petting zoo, maze, mini golf, market, bowling, and a whole host of other restaurants and attractions). Throughout the cabin, you'll find an atmosphere of comfort and luxury that will ease you into a relaxing escape from the hustle & bustle of the world. But..this place has another side, too. 🎙It's got soul; retro and funky with tons of space for you to spread out and do your thing, whatever that thing might be. 🕹From the custom-made 2-player arcade cabinet with more than 4700 games!!! This machine has almost every classic arcade game from the 80’s and 90’s. Plug and play games like Street Fighter, Metal Slug Series, Golden Tee, the Simpsons, and so much more with a trackball to help you achieve your highest score... 📞To the old rotary-dial phone booth in the living room (yes, it works, but local calls only please)... 🛁To the master bathroom, with its antique cast iron soaking tub and old Singer sewing machine vanity... ✨To the elevated catwalk out back, which leads from the master suite to a private porch where you can see a million stars on a clear night. In the morning, have coffee while you listen to the awakening woods... 🎸To the Gremlin, the acoustic guitar that lives on the wall by the fireplace, and which you can play while enjoying your time around the fire with family and friends or a duet with the piano! 📚To the rocking chair that sits in wait for you and a growing collection of books, board games, and a life-size Connect Four... 🎶To the spiral staircase, which came out of a hip hop club in the Deep Ellum entertainment district of Dallas, and the Warhol picture of John Wayne at the top, presiding over it all... 🌽To the flagstone Cornhole set outside (are you the Great Cornholio?)... Beans and a grinder are included. 🫖There is an electric water kettle, so you can easily make tea as well. This will help you find it again.❤️ 🍔The outdoor grill has propane provided by a line from the big propane tank-you won't run out mid-grill! Just turn on the timer and press the ignitor. Also provided is a picnic table on a flagstone patio. 🪵The fire pit has new Polywood Adirondack chairs and, best of all, a starter bundle of firewood is provided (3-6 logs; tinder found among the trees, bring fire starter)! HOWEVER, I cannot guarantee it is dry upon arrival or during your entire stay.🔥Please be aware that, absent of a long stretch of rain, a fire ban could be in place during your stay. 🛏Where you will sleep: the sleeper sofa in the living room has a new memory foam mattress. Upstairs, you will find one ensuite master bedroom with 1 King bed with a Tempu-Pedic topper and 1 Queen bed. There is also a private guest room with a Queen bed. Each bedroom has a flat-screen TV. One more full bathroom downstairs with a walk-in shower finished with beautiful subway tile. ✔️The cabin sleeps 6 best. While there is an addition 2-person bed in the sofa, there is seating for 6. For eating, there are TV trays in the pantry and a highchair. I allow up to 8 so you don't incur extra charges for small children or adults who understand how the cabin is set up. Please consider this when booking. 🛏All linens included (sheets, blankets, bath towels, hand towels, washcloths, Cabana hot tub towels, & kitchen towels) For the Smart TVs, you will use your own logins. *STARTER PACK-a few guests are confused that all of the toiletries, toilet paper, laundry detergent, etc. is not made available for any length of stay. It is the industry standard to provide a "starter pack". This is enough consumables to get you started on your vacation, especially for late arrivals. Most guests are driving in and pack for their trip at home. They bring items with them. This has always been the standard practice in vacation homes. Our STARTER PACK includes 1-2 rolls of toilet paper per bathroom, 1 roll of paper towels, travel-size shampoo and conditioner (and a wall dispenser in the downstairs bath of shampoo, conditioner, and body wash), hand soap, a few detergent pods for clothing and the dishwasher, and many extras (we even supply bubble gum, firewood, and a landline telephone). Cleaners can make mistakes but my cleaners are always willing to return to the cabin during normal business hours to correct those mistakes. Please reach out right away if there is a problem. 🧊The cabin does NOT have an ice machine due to the increased flooding hazard. Ice is available at nearby kiosks and convenience stores. I do provide ice trays to make your own as well. 🔥The fireplace is inoperable from May to October. The fire pit is available with firewood all year long, thanks to the Great Escape Shop!! A FEW NOTES: 🐶🐶Two dogs allowed with an additional one-time, flat pet fee of $90 plus tax (payment for 1 dog, 2nd dog is free). Service dogs are always welcome! TRAVEL INSURANCE is highly recommended from Airbnb or Cancel For Any Reason (CFAR) travel insurance from a 3rd party. We adhere to the Airbnb cancellation policy and cannot move dates last minute. SAFETY: Short Term Rental License #1900000064 (this means we passed a safety inspection and paid the annual fee required). Separately, Danisa is a Short-Term Rental Safety Inspector and conducts full safety audits annually. Smoke alarms, hot tub quality, and CO alarms are quality-checked monthly. Audits include fire safety, fall prevention, emergency preparedness, electrical and appliance safety, and hot tub safety. Fire extinguishers are checked and certified annually by professionals.
